This Cookie Policy explains how h15n Ventures, the operator of The Missing Workbook, uses cookies and similar technologies on missingworkbook.com.

1. Strictly Necessary Cookies and Session Values

These are required for the Service to work and cannot be disabled through the Service itself.

• Checkout session state: remembers a pending checkout while you sign in or register before completing payment.

2. Functional Cookies

Functional cookies remember choices that make the product easier to use.

• Phrase level preference (phrases_last_grade): remembers the last phrase level you browsed so the phrase list can reopen in the same place.
• Attribution cookies (mm_first_touch, mm_last_touch): signed, HTTP-only cookies that remember the first and most recent registered marketing channel that brought you to the site. They are used for first-party product analytics, not advertising.

First-touch attribution may last up to 1 year. Last-touch attribution may last up to 30 days.

3. Analytics and Product Diagnostics

We use privacy-conscious first-party visit analytics and may use third-party diagnostic tools.

• Ahoy: first-party page-view analytics for selected dictionary/entity pages. Ahoy is configured without client-side cookies, without GeoIP lookup, with masked IP addresses, and with bot filtering.
• Microsoft Clarity: when enabled, Clarity may use cookies or local storage to understand product usage, clicks, scrolling, navigation, device/browser details, and session diagnostics.
• Sentry: error monitoring and performance diagnostics. Sentry may collect technical context when an error occurs or a sampled trace is recorded.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site behavioral advertising cookies.

4. Third-Party Cookies

Some third parties may set cookies or similar technologies when you interact with their services:

• Google: if you use Google Sign-In
• Stripe: when you complete checkout or manage billing through Stripe
• Microsoft Clarity: when product analytics are enabled
• Sentry: when browser error monitoring loads

Those third-party cookies are governed by the providers' own policies.
