   The baronet inherited both the title and the family estate from his father.

From baron + the diminutive suffix -et. The title was created in England in 1611 as a hereditary dignity ranked below the peerage but above most knighthoods; unlike a peer, a baronet does not receive a seat in the House of Lords by virtue of the title.
