   The museum reconstructed a toxodon from fossils found in Pleistocene deposits.

From the New Latin genus name Toxodon, built from Greek toxon ("bow") + odous, stem odont- ("tooth"). Richard Owen named the genus for its curved, bow-shaped teeth after fossils collected in South America by Charles Darwin.
