The English agent noun formed from corrupt and -er. Corrupt ultimately comes from Latin corrumpere, 'to destroy, spoil, or seduce,' from com-, 'together or completely,' and rumpere, 'to break.' The less common spelling corruptor reflects the Latin agent noun corruptor.
