   Archaeologists found pottery fragments beside the entrance to the dolmen.

Borrowed from French dolmen, an antiquarian coinage traditionally explained from Breton taol ("table") + maen ("stone"). That compound is not the regular Breton formation, so the exact history of the French term remains disputed.
