   The gaur moved out of the forest at dusk to graze near the clearing.

Borrowed from Hindi gaur, from Sanskrit gaura. The word has been used in English since the early nineteenth century; gaour is a historical spelling, and gayal is a related word for a domesticated or semidomesticated bovine.
