   the astronomical model or belief that Earth is stationary at the center of the universe or of the motions of the heavenly bodies

   Copernican astronomy displaced geocentrism by placing Earth among the planets orbiting the Sun.

From geocentric + -ism. Geocentric combines geo-, from Ancient Greek ge ("earth"), with centric, from Greek kentron ("center"). The term names Earth-centered cosmological systems, especially the Ptolemaic model.
