   Some twentieth-century tables labeled element 105 hahnium before dubnium became the accepted name.

Formed from Hahn + -ium in honor of German chemist Otto Hahn. Competing research groups applied hahnium to different newly synthesized elements during the transfermium naming controversy; neither use became the final international name.
