   The gardener's continual repastination kept the compacted bed loose and aerated.

From Latin repastinatio, from repastinare, 'to dig again,' formed from re- and pastinare, 'to trench ground for planting vines.' The latter derives from pastinum, a two-pronged digging tool. The English agricultural term is now obsolete.
