   The levator claviculae raises the collarbone and is normally absent as a distinct muscle in humans.

Borrowed from New Latin levator, 'one that raises,' from Latin levare, 'to lift or lighten,' with the agent suffix -tor. Anatomical Latin uses levator in names for muscles whose action is to raise a structure.
